Ghan House Case Study

Hidden away in the diverse landscape and spectacular scenery of the Cooley Peninsula is the beautiful 18th century Ghan House at the foot of Slieve Foy.  Located in the idyllic town of Carlingford just south of the Newry border, Ghan House is a 4* private Georgian House, built in 1727 which for over 25 years has been providing accommodation and fine dining to guests across the Emerald Isle and further afar.

The owner of Ghan House, Paul Carroll, recently completed a refurbishment of the ensuite bathrooms in their bedrooms and BATHLINE were chosen to supply the bathroom products for the project.

In keeping with the traditional look and feel of Ghan House, Paul worked closely with Paul Campbell, the BATHLINE Newry Showroom Manager, to provide a bathroom solution to compliment the natural Georgian ambience.

Having discussed a variety of options, Burlington was selected as the brand of choice as a perfect match to cohere with the architecture and character of the accommodation. Products selected included baths, toilets, basins, mirrors, radiators and showers.

In total there were seven ensuite bathrooms required, each providing a different setting for customers.  As a result each ensuite therefore required a delicate and sensitive approach to complimenting and completing the room.

Space and lighting were two key components of the project and with, ensuring there was sufficient illumination and adequate space for customers to utilise the bathrooms to their needs. Consideration for disabled customers was also catered for with walk in showers in selected ground floor rooms.
