Adding some Colour to your Bathroom

A Blog on Adding some colour to your bathroom.

Did you know that colours are able to evoke emotions within us? Red is the colour of passion and daring. Yellow is optimism and happiness. White, very often used in bathrooms, is the colour of purity. However, why just choose one colour? If your bathroom is like many others – predominantly white – try adding a little pop of colour. Today we’re going to be looking at 5 simple ways to add a little bit of colour to any bathroom.

Brassware

Silver might be what we always see in bathrooms, but it is by no means the only colour of brassware you can avail of. Here at Bathline we stock matt black taps, to give a darker and sleek edge to your bathroom. For glam and luxury, we have unique golden taps. We also have brass coloured taps for a vintage look.

Statement Walls

Having one wall different from the rest of your room makes quite the statement and is a beautiful focal point for your bathroom. Consider painting one wall a different and contrasting colour depending on the existing colour scheme of your room. Alternatively, you could wallpaper this wall – make sure to choose a wallpaper that is appropriate for bathrooms and can cope with the dampness of the room. Wallpapers open up a lot more possibilities as you can choose a wallpaper with a bold design or striking images.

Tiling

Whether they are on the floor or on the wall (or both!), tiling is a great way to get creative with your bathroom. We recommend subtle points of difference within your bathroom by choosing only certain sections to differ your tiles. If both your walls and your floor are tiled, keep one plain while choosing an alternative pattern for the other. Or, perhaps choose to only change some tiles: keeping all your tiles plain with the occasional tile having a pattern.

Furnishings

Think rugs, think lights, think storage units: these are your opportunities to add a splash of colour to your bathroom. Don’t go too crazy, pick a colour and stick to it with all your furnishings. We recommend light colours to add an open and bright feel to the room.

Bathroom amenities

Don’t fancy retiling your bathroom or repainting the storage unit? How about keeping other bathroom purchases to a colour scheme, such as your towels? In an all-white bathroom, coloured towels hanging on a rack can add a lovely pop of colour. If you wanted to further this scheme even more, consider transferring your soaps to reusable jars and bottles that compliment your colour scheme.
